It's hard to believe it's almost been 2 full weeks since Olivia's birth! Tomorrow is her 2 week birthday! (Also my 2 week anniversary since my c-section!).
Jeff and I had a chance to visit with Olivia this afternoon for a short visit. Grandma Siemens came by this evening too! Olivia is still on oxygen and still has her IV in her tiny hand. Her feeds are up to 2.9ml an hour! Almost up to what she should be at which is 3.9ml an hour. That's still a aways off for a tiny girl like her but I think she can do it. If she keeps going with her feeds the way she is at the moment and being able to tolerate them she will no longer need her IV or need a pic line.
Her weight has gone up again to 590 grams:) Maybe tomorrow will be her lucky day to reach 600 grams, her two week birthday!
Also, as some of you may have already read in the previous post, Jeff had a chance to hold Olivia tonight for the first time! It was a very special moment for the both of us, especially me. Daddy got to hold his little girl for the first time. Even though he didn't get to hold her for as long as I did yesterday it was still a very special moment. I'll be trying to hold her tomorrow sometime if she behaves:) It's hard when they're so tiny as their body's are so delicate and you have to monitor them very closely so that they are safe. So many cables running to her, like heart rates, STATS, IV, continuous feeding tube, fluid, and oxygen mask. Lot's to keep track of. Luckily was have a wonderful team in the NICU looking after our little princess. Love all the nurses there, they're doing an amazing job and I can't thank them enough for helping little Olivia grow and get stronger.
Not much else is new for her today. She has one more dose of IBu tomorrow and then on Monday she will have another echocardiogram done to check up on her heart murmur.
