It's the weekend and that's my favourite times of the week because it's when both Jeff and I can visit Olivia for more than an hour. With Jeff working during the week it's hard for the both of us to go and enjoy our daughter together.
This morning was a slow start to the day but that was fine with me as it seems like during the week is so much more hectic. Perhaps it's having Tucker and Olivia to take care of during the week alone and not having much downtime to myself to just sit and relax and do nothing. (Or have time to update Olivia's blog, which is what I did this morning! I've changed a few things with her blog this morning (which I'm hoping will show up in the email subscription part if I did it correctly. For those of you who have subscribed to her blog, please let me know know if you see the slight changes in your email delivery format. If everything seems the same I'll have to fiddle with it again tomorrow to get it working. It's nothing too exciting but nevertheless, was fun to do (if I did it correctly!).
While I was working on Olivia's blog this morning Jeff took our dog, Tucker, to Thetis Lake with his parents. What a lucky boy, Tucker! He's actually cuddling with me right here

What I good little helper I have! High Paws for Tucker!
Once Jeff and Tucker came back from the park we had lunch before heading out to the hospital to see our little babe. We arrived at the NICU around 2pm this afternoon. Olivia was sleeping, of course:) Nothing has changed since our last night's visit other than apparently she had a little episode last night around 12:30am. She had a little throw up which she didn't like at all and the nurses had to give her a few breaths of air because her throw up was making her not breath. They got her going again and she was fine after that. Poor little girl, so much has gone on in her life and she's only 4 weeks old! (Tomorrow that is).
Oh, and her weight we will find out tomorrow because they weigh her in the evenings. What do you think her weight will be? Up or Down from 750 grams?
This afternoon was only a short visit as Jeff and I wanted to head out for some ice-cream and coffee! Yes, if you remember from a previous posting I wrote when I went to the doctors for my check-up, I was given the green light to have coffee again! (in moderation of course!). Apparently I was allowed coffee awhile back but forgot to ask at my previous appointment. So, after our ice cream stop Jeff and I headed over to Starbucks for my ever so favourite beverage, Mocha Frappacinno! Oh my goodness, it was the best thing ever! I missed it! Course I drank the whole bottle so I'll probably be up all night now, haha! I'll only have one a week or so as I do still want to make sure I do get some sleep every now and then.

After sitting and enjoying our Starbuck's drinks and playing on our iPad's I decided to head over and do some shopping therapy before heading back to the hospital this evening. I went over to Home Outfitters while Jeff went to Futureshop! I didn't buy anything this time, just browsed! Was nice to be out and about.
Once our shopping therapy was done Jeff and I headed back to the hospital to do Oliva's handling. 5:30 was her handling time and I was not going to miss it this time! I arrived there just in time to change her diaper and take her temperature. Olivia was very well behaved this time when I did both of these things. I think either she's tolerating it more or I'm getting better at it, or a bit of both perhaps? I'm certainly getting better at changing her diaper. I've learned a couple of tricks from the nurses on how to efficiently change her diaper. One trick is to put her clean diaper under her wet diaper then remove her wet diaper so the new one is all ready. This way if she decides to do a number it'll go in her diaper instead of her bed. It's a bit tricky to do but I think I'm getting the handle of it!
After her handling it was time for her daily cuddle! This time it was Daddy Jeff who was the lucky one to hold her. Dad is getting better at holding her as Olivia was very well behaved for him as well as Daddy played a super hero! While he was holding her this evening Olivia had a couple of bradys which Jeff jumped in and saved the day! He knew what to do! He rubbed her back and or tummy and she came back up. Way to go Dad! All the nurses were impressed!
While Jeff was holding Olivia I did something that I've been wanting to do for awhile! Before I say what I did I will say that you probably won't guess what it is! I actually had dinner with Olivia! Yes, we tube fed together! (for those of you who don't know, I am tube fed and have been all my life). For me, this was sort of a funny experience that I often joke about with the nurses in the NICU. They're all surprised by this and also laugh. Well today, I did it! Mother and daughter bonding session by both being tube fed. Jeff, where's your tube! haha!
As I mentioned above, Olivia was very comfy tonight being cuddled by Daddy. It was so nice to see that bonding moment. They cuddled for about an hour and a half at which that point it was 7pm. Time for the nurses shift change.
I'm sorry we didn't get a photo of Olivia today! We will for sure get lots tomorrow as she will be 4 weeks old! So hard to believe! I'll be brining in my SLR camera tomorrow to get some nice shots of her. So, stay tuned!
For now, it's bed time now! Hopefully I can get some shut eye with all that caffeine I had earlier!
Night everyone and thanks again for reading!
