Good evening everyone! (Although most of you will be reading this post tomorrow morning). Today is a big milestone day! Olivia is 3 weeks old and weighs 1.5 pounds! (688 grams). Such a huge accomplishment Olivia! Way to go! Here she is today!
Before heading out to visit Olivia at the hospital this afternoon Jeff and I headed out to a family brunch to celebrate his mom's 65th birthday! Happy Birthday Marcy! It was a special celebration celebrating two events! Olivia got a couple more gifts today from her Auntie Julia and her Niece Lauren. Look what she got!
Olivia's cousin Lauren (9 years old) made a hat for her! Super cute!! Here it is:)
I took the hat to the NICU this afternoon after the party and although I couldn't put the hat on her (because of her c-pap) I took these photos. Hope you enjoy these:) I will for sure get a photo of her wearing the hat as soon as her c-pap is off. Thanks Lauren!!
Besides playing dress up with Olivia's animals in her incubator I got to hold Olivia again! I love holding her, makes me feel so happy! Usually I get to hold her with her vertically with her head up high on my chest but today I got to hold her across my chest with her little eyes peeping up at me! She was awake for a bit today so it was great to see her eyes! So adorable! She really watches! Although she can't really see much (only fuzzy shapes and apparently she can make out some things close up) I love to see her:). She looks very curious! Here we are cuddling this afternoon!
While Olivia and I were cuddling I feel asleep for a bit. I caught myself snoring! haha! I woke up though whenever Olivia's monitor beeped or she started to cry. Was happy to know that I can awake whenever she needs me. She has the cutest little squirms when she's with me. Her tiny hands feel like tiny spiders crawling on me sometime, haha! When I awoke briefly to check on her I found Jeff sound a sleep in his chair with his head on Olivia's bedside! We were having a family nap time! We're all tired!
As for Olivia's progress nothing much has changed over the past few days. She is up to 4.3ml of milk per hour and gaining weight every day! She is still on c-pap and her heart PDA (heart valve) is still open as we last heard. They will be continuing to monitor that every week to see if it's closing still on it's own.
Jeff is heading back to work again tomorrow so I'll be on my own this week. Ill be heading to visit her early tomorrow morning (if I can get my butt in gear!) and spending the morning with her. I usually go in the afternoons. So glad I can go see my little girl whenever I want. She always welcomes me:)
Well, it's almost 11pm! This blog better be posted fast or else you won't get it in time (for those who have subscribed to her blog!) Hope you're all doing well and have a good night (or day!).
