Before I get onto Olivia I'd like to mention what I did today for a change. It's not that exciting but thought I'd write about it anyways.
Today was a busy but productive day for me. It may not sound like it was but it was busy.
Woke up at 7:30am and did my motherly chore of pumping milk which then I proceeded to have breakfast afterwards. Exciting, huh?
Moving forward! I was planning on meeting Jeff for lunch this afternoon but thankfully my iPhone reminded me of my wedding consultation this morning! Yes, I've booked two weddings for October as well as my yearly gig at Craigdarroch Castle (which is Sunday, December 14 at 11am, in case you're wondering:) ). Trying to keep a bit busy with normal stuff.
After my consult, which went well by the way, I had my lunch then proceeded to pack my stuff up to get ready for going to the hospital later this afternoon. Before heading in to visit Olivia I took Tucker to bosleys to get a new Dog tag as his was faded and this ring to hold the tags was broken. Once I picked that up Tucker and I proceeded to head to his favorite place, the park!
Although short, Tucker had a good play. Running around, getting dirty and wet! It's what he does best!
After Tucker's short play I picked up some organic tea (which is suppose to help boost milk). Who knew milk production was so challenging! I'll do whatever it takes for Olivia though! (Hope you don't mind me being so open on this blog! Then again, I did post my pictures of my delivery which is a lot more open haha!).
Once I got my tea I dropped Tucker at home and headed out to the hospital to see Olivia. I felt kind of bad that I didn't get out to see her until 5:30 but I felt like it was okay for me to have a bit of a me day and relax a bit (even though I was busy!).
I arrived at the NICU where Olivia was sound asleep (as usual! She does a lot of sleeping which is good because that's when she's doing all her growing!). Because I arrived later in the afternoon I couldn't hold her until after 8pm as there was a shift change at 7:00pm. Wasn't enough time to do it. Instead I just sat with her and put my hand on her back while she rested.
Shortly after I arrived Jeff arrived from work to see her. We had a short visit but we came back later in the evening to visit her again.
Once 7pm came around Jeff and I headed home to have dinner and relax for a bit. We headed back out at 9:30 for her handling (diaper change ect). Unfortunately we arrived too late for me to change her diaper and weigh her. I arrived just as they were doing up her diaper! Darn! I did, however, get to see Olivia with her oxygen mask and hat off for a brief moment! They take it off when they weigh her every evening. I didn't have time to get a photo but I can tell you, she has a lot of hair! Looks like very dark brown or black hair:) Just like Mommy! Hopefully soon we will be able to see her without her oxygen hat and mask on. She's such a cutie!!
Oh, by the way! Forgot to mention her weight today! They weighed her just before I got to hold her this evening! She's up again! She's now 750 grams!! Go Olivia! Jeff got a photo of Olivia before she was ready to be transferred to my arms for a cuddle. Doesn't she look bigger??

As I mentioned above once Olivia was all done up I got to hold her again. This time we cuddled for about 1 and a half hours. She's getting good at cuddling mommy! She did have a couple of fits though where she cried and sqirmed! Took the nurses and I to figure out what she wanted but after a few tries we got her settled again.
After the 2nd fuss she had we put her back into bed. She lasted about an hour and a half again in my arms. She seemed happier once she was back in her incubator. The exciting thing was tonight was that the nurse tried to put her soother in her mouth to see if she would take it and suck. Guess what? She started sucking it! It was the cutest thing ever! (Although I know I've said that expression before in the blog I just can't help it!:)). I had to hold her soother in her mouth as it was way to big for her but she seemed to enjoy it. It's amazing how babies know what to do when you put a soother in their mouth especially when they're so young and tiny like Olivia. Here she is with her soother!

I didn't want to leave my little girl last night but I had to head home and get some shut eye myself (Olivia does a great job at this! I should learn from her!) Jeff and I arrived back home at 11:45pm! Tomorrow will be Jeff's turn to hold our little one! Perhaps he'll even change her diaper again if he's lucky?:)
