It's about time to update Olivia's blog as there has been a lot of milestones hit in the past week and a bit!
For starters, Olivia turned 10 weeks old yesterday and is finally off her high-flow oxygen and is now graduated to the last step before coming off oxygen! She's now on lo-flow which pure oxygen rather than high flow which is a mix of oxygen and room air. She seems to be doing well on it thus far and thriving!
On to more thiving here! She has started more breast feeding as well as more bottle feeding now. A couple of days ago she took 4ml of milk from me! I was so impressed with her! They measure the milk intake by two methods. They weigh her before she feeds and then after and then they have a way of calculating how much she drank. As for bottle feeding, tonight was her huge night!! I went in to bottle feed her tonight after having a nice dinner with Jeff, his sister, Julia, and Julia's husband's Mom, Jeanne. Jeanne hadn't met her yet so wanted to come and say a quick boo to her. Tonight Olivia took 32ml from the bottle! I couldn't believe it! We started with 12ml, she finished that and kept sucking so we put more in her bottle. Put another 6 in and still she kept going! We decided to just put the rest of her meal in the bottle and see if she'd finish it. She came very close! She only missed 8ml! She was a superstar tonight! She will get another certificate of achievement tonight for her new record! What a smart girl!
Guess I should tell you her weight too while I'm at it. She's up to 4.5 pounds now! She's growing like a weed! She had her first ever real bath last week as well. She was a superstar! She didn't mind being in the water at all. Next bath time I'll be doing it myself. Should be sometime this week! Also got a couple of videos of her and her first bath as well so be sure to check those two out on her video page!
Oh, and Olivia had her first christmas photo shoot on Saturday with Deanna McCollum Photography! She was so well behaved it was amazing! She even opened her eyes and smiled for the camera! Was so adorable. Here is the sneak preview of the photo shoot she had. There are more photos to come!
