Anyways, I'll give you an update here. Olivia is up to 1105 grams! Yes, 1105! (I'll try to update her growth chart over the weekend if I remember! I try to do it weekly, oh and also her weekly photo! I'll get that up too!). She might be more today but won't know until I get there this morning at 9am. Her eye test will be sometime this week. Hopefully it's going in the right direction! Other than that not much is new. She's just cruising along nicely!
For the past few days Jeff and I have been taking turns heading into the NICU visiting our daughter so each of us can get some down time for a bit. I'm in the hospital 5 days a week 6-9 hours a day. I'm not in NICU that whole time as I head to Jeneese place for a break, rest, or write my blog and occasionally rest. Oh, and I catch up on laundry as our washing machine is broken now. Another thing to try and fit into my day.
Speaking of laundry, I must tell you about Olivia's big mess!
I went to weigh her Sunday night (I just lifted her up in the incubator as the scale is built right into the incubator! How cool is that!). As I was lifting her I said to her nurse "I hope she doesn't pee on me" and what does she do?? Pee on me! HAHA! Wasn't big deal but too funny!
It gets better!! (Sorry Olivia if you read this years from now I'm sure you'll be embarrassed but too bad!:P).
The next morning I went to see Olivia I was doing her morning handling before her morning cuddle. She hadn't pooped in 2 days so they gave her a drug to help her along, well it worked! She finally had a poopy diaper for me! So I proceeded to put her new diaper under her old one then lift her legs and bum up to take her old one out. Well!! She exploded!! not just in her diaper but ALL OVER her incubator! On the walls, blankets, machine plugs, me! Everywhere!! It was huge!! Jeff and his dad were there as well and they just stood back and said it was all me! HAHA. I left her alone for a bit to let her work things out and proceeded to try again to at least get a clean diaper on her. Soon as I lifted her little toosh up again she did it again!! She proceeded to to this a few times until she was finished (or close too). I managed to finally get a clean diaper on her quick and close off her explosions. Since she made such a mess we not only had to change her sheets but give her a whole new incubator! This whole process took about an hour to get sorted out and get her into her new house. I'm sure this won't be the first time but it was sure a shock as to how much a little girl could produce! HAHA.
Needless to say, that's why I've been doing a lot of laundry lately! Hoping our washing machine will be fixed by the end of the week!
As I mentioned before above Jeff and I have been spending a lot of time with her lately. She's just too cute! We finally managed to get our first family photo the other day! (Thanks Hilary for the suggestion! Such a simple photo to take yet we didn't think of it!). Here it is!
Yesterday was a busy day for Olivia! (AKA Oleia!) Grandma Marcy dropped by as well as my friend/student, Larry! (AKA, Darth Vador! Now you know who Darth is when you read the comments on her blog! haha). Both Larry and Marcy hadn't seen Olivia out of her incubator so I made sure they were there for that moment. It's nice to see her out. Larry noticed a big difference in her as the last time he was there was a month ago! She's doubled in size! We had a bit of fun while I was holding her. I pulled out my new little teddy bear which I bought at target (regularly $32, on sale for $21, on clearance for $10, and paid $7!!). It's not just any bear, its a little bear which you can put your iPod inside of it and it has a little speaker in it. It plays music! You can use this to put your child to sleep, so clever! Here's the bear and here's the bear and Larry!
Ah yes, Larry is in his running gear (he's a runner!)...we went for a run after our visit! Was so nice to get out for once and do something. We only went 2km but that's okay! I was a heck of a lot faster than I was month ago in my first run! 14 mins for 2km! (we did walk some so that's why! Need to build up my stamina again...shouldn't take long! RVM Half Marathon, here I come!)
Now instead of me talking about every moment the past few days I'll just post a few pictures up with captions. Here are some of favourite photos I've taken the past few days:
I'll try to update a bit more frequently so you're all up to date. Here's today's daily photo caption for you guys to do!
